It WAS A "Super" Bowl!

Incredible game yesterday! Even if you are not a football fan, you had to appreciate the spectacle that was Super Bowl 43!

The Steelers pulled it out, but no one ANYWHERE is saying that the Cardinals didn’t “belong” in the Big Game (as was alluded to all week prior to kickoff)

And it took a HUGE game to overshadow all of the other aspects of the Super Bowl telecast. Below are my Top Ten—and for the first time in a LONG time, the game itself actually takes the Top Spot:

TOP TEN SUPER BOWL 43 MOMENTS

1) The Game —especially the record 100 yard interception/return for a TD at the end of the first half! Can you IMAGINE if that had been the final play of the SECOND HALF instead?
2) The Boss At Halftime-Bruce Springsteen lived up to all of the hype-and delivered a sizzling 4-song set!
3) Jennifer Hudson Singing the National Anthem-OK, I really don’t care that it was lip-synched---an incredible performance made more so by the recent tragic events of her life.
4) Ovation of General Patraeus- The Super Bowl crowd is usually heavy on the “corporate-I-got-in-without-actually-being-a-football-fan” set, but these people really gave our top military leader the salute he deserves—and in turn, all those across the world who serve under him. Goosebumps.
5) F-15 Flyover-Goosebumps, Part Two. If you have ever been at a stadium where this has occurred (I have), you will feel the same sensation every time thereafter-even when it is on TV.
6) The Journey concert-During the pre-game show. Replacement for Steve Perry lead singer Arnel Pineda totally nails it-and the crowd loved it, even when you factor in that most of them were probably intoxicated.
7) President Obama’s Interview with Matt Lauer-even though the technical difficulties diminished things a bit, it was a decent session. Matt was a bit too chummy with the Chief Executive (in my opinion), but aside from the comment about Jessica Simpson’s weight struggle after Matt’s magazine ambush, the President did an admirable job.
8) Larry Fitzgerald’s Pre-Game interview with Tiki Barber. If you didn’t cry at the story of Larry-and the death of his mother before he could make amends—you are not a human being! Forget the game. That piece may have done more good for families across America than any other single event on TV on any channel that day.
9) FOOD!-OK, this is not actually a “moment”…in my case, it was a four hour marathon of eating and drinking. One of the reasons I love the Super Bowl is that I can stuff my face without guilt on this day (only Thanksgiving shares this distinction)
10) COMMERCIALS- perhaps not as good as years past, but there were some good ones! I previewed the CareerBuilder.com spot in my Friday blog---hilarious! That one is in a tie with the following one for my absolute favorite-click below:
