In this age of frugality, coupled with an increasing awareness of the depletion of our natural resources, it’s not surprising that more emphasis is being given to EFFICIENCY.
The cost of gas-having spiked about $4/gallon-then dropped to under $2—is now is on the rise again. Fuel efficiency is a concern-and SMALLER cars will dominate showrooms for the foreseeable future. Who among us doesn’t almost look with DISDAIN at the owners of Hummers as they chug past? It’s no longer a matter of the price of gas or if you can afford it, but rather---SHOULD you drive a big gas hog just because you CAN?

I think I’ll stop short of carrying my car into the office, thank you. And God help me if I would ever get into a crash in one of those, with, say…a HUMMER? Hope that every purchase comes with a free can opener—to extract what's left of you when the paramedics arrive!
